BREAKING ILR Update: the biggest change to ILR in years & what sponsors need to know

The government’s final plans for earned settlement are one of the biggest changes to UK immigration in years, and they matter for employers and sponsored workers alike. If you're still figuring out what they mean for your business, this week's breaking news webinar is for you.
For most sponsored workers, the standard wait for indefinite leave to remain (ILR) doubles from five years to 10. That’s around 260 more weeks for someone paid at the general Skilled Worker threshold, unless their salary, role or time already in the UK puts them on a shorter route.
If you’re a UK employer sponsoring overseas workers, our free 45-minute briefing on Thursday 5 November at 2pm is for you. Matt Bond, our CEO and co-founder, will be joined by Lead Immigration Advisers Lul Salah and Aleena Jeremiah to walk through what was announced, who it affects, and what to do before the changes take effect.
What you’ll leave with:
- How salary, role level and time already in the UK decide each person’s new wait
- Why today’s five-year rules still apply, and who keeps the five-year route after the change
- What extra years on sponsorship mean for your costs: extensions, CoS and ISC per person
- A plain-English way to explain it to the people you sponsor
