Answer the Home Office with confidence

As your Authorising Officer, you answer for everything done on the licence, even as more people across the business sponsor and manage workers. Borderless gives you a live view of every sponsored worker, logs who did what and when, tracks every reporting deadline, and has IAA-regulated immigration advisers review anything that goes to the Home Office. When the Home Office asks, you have the answer.

What you answer for

The responsibility sits with you

The Authorising Officer is responsible for the licence and for what every SMS user does.

Accountability

Actions you can’t see

Reports, certificates and changes made by colleagues are your responsibility, whether or not you saw them.

Deadlines

Late reports and missed checks

Not reporting a change in time can lead to a downgrade or revocation, and the clocks count working days.

Evidence

Proof when the Home Office asks

Officers can inspect records and systems, and interview you, your recruiters and your sponsored workers.

Oversight you can evidence

Every step is recorded, and a regulated adviser reviews what goes out.

01

A full audit trail

Every document, check, review and approval is logged with who did it and when.

02

Reportable changes tracked

Changes that need reporting are flagged with their deadline, and the report is pre-filled.

03

Company changes watched

Halo checks each licensed business against Companies House every day and flags ownership, director and status changes.

04

Regulated advisers

Our advisers are regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority, reference F202309005.

05

Client care letters

Each case comes with a client care letter, and a closing letter when it ends.

06

Clear access

Owner, Editor and Viewer permissions, set by business and site, so you know who can change what.

How oversight works day to day

Map your licences

Each licence, business and site set up, with sponsored workers tied to the right one.

Set who can do what

Owners, Editors and Viewers, each with access to the businesses and sites they need.

Track every deadline

Reportable changes and follow-up checks sit on one record, with the date each is due.

Questions we’re often asked

Does Borderless become responsible for our licence?

No. Your organisation stays responsible for its sponsor duties, and your Authorising Officer stays named on the licence. Borderless gives you the records, the deadlines and a regulated adviser.

Who reviews what goes to the Home Office?

An IAA-regulated immigration adviser reviews anything before it’s submitted, and nothing goes in until you approve it.

Can you handle appeals or court work?

No. Our advisers work at Level 1, which doesn’t cover appeals, tribunals or judicial review. Your adviser tells you early if a case needs that.

How long are records kept?

Right to work checks must be kept while the person works for you and for two years after. Borderless keeps each check on the worker’s file with the date it was done.
