Who it’s for / Construction
Sponsor the skills you can’t find, wherever the work moves
Fewer construction roles qualify for sponsorship than before, and a move to a new site can start a reporting clock. Borderless checks each role before you recruit, tracks where every sponsored worker is based, and gives you IAA-regulated immigration advisers who review anything that goes to the Home Office.

Ready for a visit
Every worker’s file checked daily
Built for how construction actually runs
Projects start and finish, crews move between sites, and work passes through contractors. The sponsor duties stay with you throughout, so Borderless checks them at every turn.
Eligible roles
Trades and roles, checked first
Since 22 July 2025, most new Skilled Worker roles need to be at degree level (RQF 6). Many trades below that can only be sponsored while they’re on a shortage list, so we check each role before you recruit.
Rules in flux
Shortage list changes, tracked for you
The shortage list entries for construction trades run until the end of 2026. The Migration Advisory Committee has recommended a new list from January 2027, but the rules haven’t changed yet. We track each decision and tell you which of your roles it affects.
Changing sites
Site moves reported on time
A move to a new site or client site that isn’t on the certificate must be reported within 10 working days. Day-to-day moves don’t, and we tell you which is which.
Subcontracting
The sponsor is the real employer
You can send a sponsored worker to a client for a defined project, but not hire them out for routine work. Your adviser checks the contracting set-up before a certificate is assigned.
Audit readiness
Every file ready for a visit
Appendix D records, right to work checks, and payslips for every sponsored worker, checked as records change, with a live health score for each site.

Questions we’re often asked
Can we still sponsor skilled trades?
Some, yes. Since 22 July 2025, most new Skilled Worker roles need to be at degree level (RQF 6). Trades below that level can be sponsored only while they’re on the Temporary Shortage List or the Immigration Salary List, and the current shortage list runs until the end of 2026. Your adviser checks each role before you recruit.
Do we have to report every time someone changes site?
No. A change to a worker’s normal work location, including a client’s site that isn’t on their certificate, must be reported within 10 working days. Day-to-day changes, like a day at another site, don’t need a report. Borderless tracks where each worker is based and flags when a report is needed.
Can our sponsored workers work for a main contractor or a client?
The sponsor must be the employer with full responsibility for the work. You can send a sponsored worker to a client for a defined project, but you can’t hire them out to fill a routine role there. Supplying sponsored workers as labour to another organisation can lead to your licence being revoked, so your adviser reviews the set-up first.
We don’t have a sponsor licence yet. Can you help?
Yes. We help with the application, from checking you’re eligible to the documents the Home Office asks for, and then with your first certificates and visa applications.
